I have a TON of these. So if you want to stay away from books that will leave you cringing or bored, I'm composing a list, with explanations. Please add on your own and post if you have anything to add, or if you disagree/agree, whatever. I'm sorry if I'm harsh, but this is just my opinion.
First of all, Wither by Lauren DeStefano. Oh, lord, I could barely finish this. The cover was pretty and all, but the plot was awful. It's supposed to be a dystopian novel where women die at the precise age of 20 and men when they reach 25. Goodness. The world building was cringe-worthy and left me confused. There were contradictions everywhere.
A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford. I could barely understand what was happening here. I just went with whatever happened, all the time thinking "Did I miss something?" I don't recommend this book. It made me feel somewhat depressed, actually. Also, the heroine, Eden, is a bit annoying. The mythology was confusing, and I still don't understand what the term "Screamer" means.
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs wasn't a bad book. It was just a bit boring. It didn't keep me engaged whatsoever.
The Twilight Saga. I could go on, but the sparkling vampires say it all.
I wanted to read something different, so I read The Snow Bride by Debbie Macomber. Bad idea. It was supposed to be a romantic comedy but there wasn't really anything romantic about it. Or funny, for that matter.
Beastly by Alex Flinn. It was so unrealistic.
Oh my. Witch by Nancy Holder. This was dreadful. The worst of the worst. I didn't survive long enough to read the whole thing, but it was just so awful! And I read a part of the second book because I was curious. Holly, the main character, drowns a cat for no good reason. Ughh. I only liked the part where the octopus killed half of the characters, but Holly didn't die. Shame.
That's it for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more later.
