I started roleplaying regularly almost four years ago, so I guess that's when I started really writing. I've always loved writing, though, even in kindergarten. My stories were awful then, as you could expect. Now I write a lot, almost every day. But hey, every little bit helps.
So, what about you?

I used to roleplay before, but I'm not good at it. My scenario is a bit same as yours, when I first write story it's awful, but I never give up. I was indignant to see the story I write isn't good despite I only good at poem writing. English is my second language, and only person good at it is my elder sister; she's a teacher and now she's going for doctorate in South East Asia History study and humanity studies. She's ambitious, but once she help me and revise my homework with me and spark my interest in poem writing twelve years ago.
Now I don't have to rely on her because English improve a lot after I write and practice writing fan fiction. The only writing I'm good at is poetry, because I lost count how many poems I write in the past. XD

I really started to seriously write in 8th grade, along when I started to like reading, which for me the two come hand in hand. I have been writing poetry and small stories ever since(I am in my first year of college now) while trying to write my own book which has been ingrained in my head since I was 13 or 14.
I joined The Muse Bunny, which shut down eventually and I transfered over(along with many other from that site) to The Onigiri Novelists, which changed it's name to For Writer's Sake.
I started role-playing on TMB and instantly fell in love with it. I have been doing it for a year or so now and I try to find as many role plays I possibly can to join them, because to me the RP never goes fast enough compared to how many times a day I check the site ^.^
Well, yeah, that's about it XD

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's been writing a book for a very, very long time. xD I've had the idea for four or five years! I need someone to push me to write it. Like, really push me. Give me a deadline or something to motivate me, haha.
I've been roleplaying for five years, mostly mythical creatures and such, but more recently humans. I am working on a dystopian creature roleplay as of now, putting on finishing touches and all that.
Writing is a struggle for me lately, but I'm working on getting past that. Graphic design has become interesting to me, and I may go to college in a year or two for that. xD

I've been roleplaying for about 5 years, maybe more, but I've been writing (for fun) for about 8 years.

Ahhh, writing novels is frustrating. The farthest I've ever gotten was twelve thousand words. But that was awful. I was like, eleven. And it was about fairies. *cringes* But right now, I've had this idea for seven months. It just won't go away! I love it, though. I plan for a trilogy. xD I have a working title, Dragonflame. But I don't write much these days. It's agonizing. At least I got a bunch more ideas recently. -__- I'm not showing it to anyone, though. EVER. xD Wellll, at least until it's completely finished and I'm done editing. Then I might try to find a publisher. Hopefully. I'm only thirteen, but it won't be like Eragon, that's for sure. My idea is plenty original. And fiery.

I got as far as about ten thousand words, and I finally scrapped it all to start a new idea. I never realized just how bad it was, for some awful reason. I think that's called Confidence Blindness. xD
I mustn't tell anyone about this book...the last time I did, suddenly everyone I knew was asking me every day, "How is it!? Can I read it!? I'm so proud! OMGOMG!" You know what I say to that? Pomegranate!
My strive is to have the most original plot and characters as are possible. None of that paranormal romance, that's for sure. xD

And no freaking love triangles! >< Everything will be simple for Calix and Ariza. Other than the fact that he's an outcast and a hybrid and everyone hates him... Yeah, all good.

Yay for originality! The new generation needs to bring it in heavily. Haha xD
All five books I ordered sound the same! *Ditches them out the window*

I find the story writing is not bad if I know what I'm writing about. It's not I don't know what I'm writing about, but research is the key of success of story writing. I can be a bit clueless, but if I'm inspired enough, not feeling stress or strain, I can write a story worth a discussion and spark interest.

I like story writing but I prefer writing songs or poems to novel writing. I don't have a long attention span I guess. I prefer drawing over writing though. I feel that a picture is worth more than just a thousand words. It offers more than that.
I've been writing for about seven years. I begun writing short stories before moving on to longer stories. I have been drawing and painting for nearly eight years though.
